The NMV Series combines the best of Mori Seiki's design innovations to provide unparalleled 5-axis vertical machining of complex parts.

DCG(r) (Driven at the Center of Gravity) technology and box-in-box construction are paired to increase rigidity and achieve superior accuracy. DCG minimizes vibration by pushing moving structural parts along their centers of gravity. As a result, machining time is reduced and tool life is extended. Box-in-box construction eliminates overhang and balances guideways for stability at high speeds.

DD (Direct Drive) motors are used on both the B and C axes to eliminate gears and backlash. Turning operations are possible with the C-axis rapid traverse rate of 120, 500 or 1,200 rpm.

DDM Direct Drive Motor : B-Axis and C-Axis

Transmitting the drive power directly to the rotary axes without using gears eliminates backlash. Compared with conventional worm gear systems, this dramatically improves transmission efficiency and offers high-speed feed. And Mori Seiki makes them in-house, so if they ever do break down, we can fix them quickly, significantly reducing recovery time.

Horizontal Machining Centers and High Production Manufacturing

Senga Engineering, Inc. offers 2 horizontal machining centers for complex and high volume production runs. Our Mori Seiki NH4000 DCG horizontals truly set the standard for efficiency, reliability, and accuracy.

Horizontal capability allows us to approach a part from multiple part surfaces per work holding.
In doing so the advantage is simply this:

  • "Higher Precision" - Less handling which leads to improved part quality.
  • Reduced set-up costs
  • Reduced fixturing/hard tooling costs
  • Eliminates down time because of 2-pallet system. 2-pallet system allows for unattended machining. Operator is able to work on one pallet while the 2nd pallet is being machined.
  • Faster throughput due to high speed machining capability with 14,000 & 12,000 rpm spindles.
  • Allows for Senga to machine more efficiently a vast array of materials due to high torque spindles.

Adding horizontal milling capability is ideal in our efforts to provide high quality products, at a fair and competitive price, with faster turnaround times.

Our Mori Seiki NH4000 DCG features a 2-pallet system:

  • APC (Automatic Pallet Changer);
  • 25 horsepower, 14,000-rpm spindle;
  • High-speed rapids;
  • 4-axis with contouring capability;
  • 60 tool and 120 tool .

Vertical Milling Centers

Senga Engineering offers 10 vertical milling centers for short-run through high production runs. We obtain added versatility by having both 30-taper and 40-taper machines with spindle speeds ranging from 8,000 to 20,000 rpms. Couple this with our horizontal capability, and we are sure to assign the right machine for your project requirements. Fourth axis attachments allow us to perform complex contouring operations and 180-degree part rotation for precise concentricity of drilled holes from top to bottom.



The basis for all Okuma vertical machining centers, the MB Series sets the bar for efficiency and utility. An impressive thermal stability and zero table overhang allow for tight tolerances and extreme accuracy. The ergonomic front-access design of the Okuma MB Series requires minimal floor space while yielding maximum results. In addition, the MB Series is environmentally friendly, requiring no hydraulic fluid. Construction optimization based on FEM analysis and a rapid spindle traverse with Hi-G acceleration combine to create a solid, nimble machine that delivers on its promise of speed and accuracy, time and time again.

Our Mori Seiki SV-500 features a manual pallet shuttle for high production;

  • High-speed 20,000-rpm spindle;
  • 1,000 psi high pressure coolant;
  • 40-taper tool holders;
  • 4-axis attachment.
  • High speed, high precision vertical machining center suited for all material types from plastic through high temp alloys.

Our Kira vertical machining centers feature 30-taper tool holders:

  • 10,000 to 15,000 rpm spindles;
  • 4-axis attachments including a dual 4-axis Yuasa attachment;
  • 10 to 14 tool holder capacity.
